Ever since I’ve deactivated my facebook account I noticed the difference it makes. Totally relaxing. You don’t have that itching-witching feeling of having to login and check who’s doing what. It’s unconsciously spying on people, even if they agreed that you do - they (myself included) just don’t realize how dangerous it could be. So, out of curiosity (really), and after three months offline time - I sneaked to Facebook and checked what’s up with certain people. Only then I came through Nermine’s facebook. And only then I realized how much I miss that girl.

Like A Morning Sun

He’s very very very happy, he’s been dreaming about her. Decided to make that someone happy, his journey for that quest starts early. Just woke up, dizzy, cold, blurry, but still happy. He checks his correspondence, finds bills, debt notice, and a complaint. He’s still happy, not as much as he woke up though. Takes a breath and heads out exploring the day in this world with happy eyes. He’s anticipating success, he foresees reward, and he visions great expectations. Decided to spend the day walking to his destinations, across the bridge, a car splashes water while speeding. It was a rainy day the day before. The guy didn’t even stop to apologies. People hurt you and move on, it’s our current dreamy world. He’s still happy, not as much as he was heading out. (more…)

Another Day Passes By.

On my way back home today I came across a telecom-van driver who was insulting some other taxi dude loudly and with all the energy one can release in an insult, just because the taxi driver blocked the road five to ten seconds. He ended up calling him an atheist, something of which I find truly weird. Why would a taxi driver be accused of being an atheist just because he committed a mistake? Have the first dude notice while insulting, he actually did block the road the whole minute of his insulting-scene. Amazing how we can judge people and never look through our own actions - let alone apologizing for it.

Yesterday it was raining a lot, and after it stopped raining; a beautiful sunset took place. It looked way better than this in real life, but meh, you get the idea. That cloud was standing out like a shy girl in a dancy crowd. The other pics include my lame Database Modeling class (over Access, duh), how UIS looks on Mozilla Prism, and finally my DM prof explaining things and stuff.

It’s been a busy week. No, make that two weeks. Rich with events and crowded with people. I am starting to lose the sense of time. It is said that you can start ignoring what day it is in two cases; one when you’re too bored/lazy/homesick, and the other is extreme opposite: when you’re too busy to count that your mental day incremental date variable forgets to auto_increment. Yeah, so, my current attention is to get UIS done. What’s UIS? It’s a comprehensive ajax powered intelligent university management system. It will be setup on a super-equiped ThinkCentre and will only operate locally. It’s really smart. It’s not just an intranet interface - it reasons. I am also still working on the UMTS (my uni’s internet/intranet servers), which is taking time to shape up. (more…)

I believe that the difference between Arabs and Americans is that the latter are always trying to do the right thing and never succeed, however, the Arabs never do the right thing, but always succeed. Success in the Arabs case doesn’t necessarily mean achieving your goals; it’s surviving. It’s not even based on luck. Luck comes to organized people. People who at least had the decency to try. Luck is the personification of divine will. That’s how Arabs see it. The problem is that not because you’re striving to do the best gives you the right to educate others about your failures. And like they say: “if you can do it, do it - if you can’t, teach it.”
